What is Uploadir?

Uploadir is a simple way to upload a file and share it using a link.

Do I need an account?

No. You can upload and share files without creating an account.

An account gives you higher limits, permanent file storage, upload history and folders.

What is the maximum file size?

Without an account, the maximum file size is 100 MB.

Account limits depend on the selected tier and can support files up to 1024 GB.

How long do files stay online?

Guest files stay online for 90 days after upload or their latest qualifying activity.

Account files do not automatically expire.

When are inactive files deleted?

Guest files may be deleted after 90 days without qualifying activity.

Account files are not deleted because of inactivity.

Does viewing a file reset its retention period?

For images, yes. Successfully loading an image on its Uploadir page or through a hotlink resets the inactivity period.

For other files, simply opening the page does not. The file must be downloaded.

What counts as a download?

Pressing Download counts as a download.

For images, successfully displaying the image on its Uploadir file page also counts as a download.

Direct image previews and hotlinks reset retention but do not increase the visible download count.

Can I replace a file after uploading it?

No. An uploaded file cannot currently be replaced or modified.

Upload the new version as a separate file and share its new link.

Can I delete an uploaded file?

Yes.

Account users can delete files from My account.

Guest uploads can be deleted using the management option provided after uploading.

Deletion is permanent.

Can I organise files into folders?

Yes. Signed-in users can create folders and upload or move files into them.

What file types are supported?

All file types are supported, subject to the file-size limit and Uploadir’s terms.

Supported images may be shown in the browser. Other files are provided as downloads.

Are uploaded files private?

Files are unlisted, but anyone with the link can access them.

Do not upload sensitive information unless you are comfortable sharing the link.

Can I upload more than one file?

Yes. You can select or drag and drop multiple files. Each file receives its own share link.

Do share links expire?

The link works while the file remains available.

Account file links remain active until the file is deleted. Guest links stop working if the file is removed under the retention policy.

Are account files ever automatically deleted?

No. Account files do not expire because of age or inactivity.

They remain until the account owner deletes them, unless removal is required for abuse, legal or security reasons.
